A 1970 Chevelle running on Liquid Propane Injection?
Well, this isn't any ordinary Chevelle, the brainchild of Jim Holloway; the Mothers Polish Chevelle is an innovative high performance test bed for LPI (Liquid Propane Injection) using a conformable aluminum fuel cell.
Under the skin this is a brand new vehicle that incorporates a lightweight tube chassis with full independent rocker suspension designed and built on a Rapid Line Industries, Inc. Design Bench. The engine in this monster is a LSX 454 GM crate engine with a Magnuson supercharger and GM 90mm throttle body. The Penske 6800 shocks make for a super handling ride.
The new liquid propane injection and delivery system installed on the Chevelle was designed by the Propane Edge Group. PEG spent over five years developing a patent pending high performance propane injection system along with all components to convert conventional engines to this highly efficient, environmental friendly fuel.
While the Propane Edge devices are effective and user-friendly, with multiple applications, all the competing devices currently on the market are only in the early testing period and awkward to use for the mainstream fleets. Propane Edge uses its designs to fill the need in the market for an easier to use, more effective propane fuel system.
A major milestone for the company is when it engineered the Holley Dominator ECM unit to manage the multi layered computer controlled liquid injected propane system for extreme high performance. PEG's ground breaking technology in fuel distribution techniques which allows multiple injectors per cylinder contributing to a 33% increase in performance and greatly improved economy.
Also, the Propane Edge Group have designed their equipment so the system can be used with the latest aluminum flat tank technology - now making it available to store propane in tight under floor areas, etc. The Mothers Polish Chevelle utilizes this ultimate packaging solution that is also contamination free.
